What Does It Involve?
Traditionally, lip augmentation is carried out using skin and fat harvested from elsewhere in the body and inserted into the lip area through an incision at the corner of the mouth. The main disadvantage is the resorption of the tissue making the result variable. Non-surgical methods include injection of free silicone and collagen. Both methods have major disadvantages and are no longer used.
Mr Ho-Asjoe performed hyaluronic acid (Juvéderm®) for lip enhancement which gives a natural look with minimal swelling. Juvéderm® is hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in the body and lasts for a period of around 9 months. For a more permanent effect, permalip is the treatment of choice. Permalip is a soft silicone implant which can be inserted into both upper and lower lips under local anaesthesia. The implant is a solid form and therefore, it will not rupture and leak and can be removed easily.
Anti-aging treatment for face, neck and hands
Most injections till now have concentrated on the replacement of lost volume and wrinkle lines. However, adequate hydration is fundamental to maintaining healthy skin tone, elasticity and a youthful appearance. The use of Juvéderm® hydrate replenishes the hyaluronic acid in the skin especially in the neck and hand region. 3 separate injections over a month’s period improve skin hydration and the quality of the skin appearance.
