Please note: A full consultation is required to discuss options available and if the patient is deemed suitable before administering.
What Does It Involve?
Botulinum toxin has been proven to smooth and even eliminate forehead lines, frown lines, crows feet and neck bands and is also used in conjunction with forehead lifts, facelifts, and eyelid surgery. It can also be used to treat conditions such as ‘Gummy smile’, depressed corner of mouth and chin dimpling.
Botulinum toxin is injected directly into the muscle with a tiny needle and works by relaxing targeted muscles. Patients may experience a slight discomfort when the needle is inserted and the Botulinum toxin is injected. The entire treatment is performed in 10 to 15 minutes with no recovery time.
With some patients, the loss of muscle activities in the forehead region may be distressing. The alternative is micro-botoxing where injection is placed at more superficial level. This preserved most of the activities of the muscles with some relaxation. In addition, the quality of skin will improve. At our clinic, we will discuss and advice according to the requirement of individual patient.
The use of Botulinum has also been for other treatments. Jawline reduction (Masseter muscle), calf reduction (Gastronemius muscle) are some of the common treatments performed by us.
The use of Botulinum is not a permanent treatment and the maximum effect remains for usually around eight weeks.
New Advertising Standards Authority regulations ASA
The ASA now state, that before treatment is undertaken a discussion of various treatment options will take place and Botulinum toxin wont be administered if a customer isn’t deemed suitable.
After Surgery
Patients can immediately resume normal activities, although, it takes a few days to see the results of the Botox injections. Typically the effects of Botox last for three to six months and must be repeated to maintain results.
