What Does It Involve?
Acellular dermal matrix (ADM) has transformed implant based breast reconstruction and even in certain cases of aesthetic breast surgery. It provides additional inferior support for the implant and tissue and acts as an internal bra. It allows a single breast reconstruction to be carried out and provides a better aesthetic result. In breast uplift and augmentation, it provides additional support and reduce the degree of ptosis that comes with time.
One type of ADM available in the European market is Strattice™ which is porcine skin that has been treated to stop rejection and allows for integration with patient tissue.
Mr. Ho-Asjoe is one of the leading European experts in the use of ADM and has been travelling around in Europe to lecture and share his experience in the use of ADM. He is the first person to use Strattice™ in the UK and has accumulated vast experience in the use of ADM in both reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery.
